Because one of our daily member groups bickered about handicaps and strokes for skins, and just about everything else, I suggested they play a Quota game once a week.  They like it so much that that's all they want to play now.

I have been keeping records in a ledger book, which now stays by the Handicap Computer, but I would like to download a good Quota game app into that computer.

Any ideas?

Is it that no one here plays a Quota game, or do you just not keep records with a computer program?

I've played in a few regular quota games but we've never used a computer to keep records.

Sort of related: A couple of guys from a different course played in our choose up game a few weeks ago and said at their course they entered the scores in a program that automatically chooses up the teams for them every week, with an ABC and D player on each team. Would be a good thing to eliminate trying to choose up fair teams every week. Unfortunately they didn't know what app they used.

I would guess the drawback for us is that although there is a core group of about 20 people that show up every Saturday there are about 20 other players that only show up about half the time, and some that play much less than that. Trying to use the computer might be more trouble than it's worth.

'au contraire mon frere'

The beauty of having it computerized, and right there in the handicap computer, is that regardless of who shows up, you can go to it and see their target, and history.

It does not take any more work than keeping a ledger.

Because there are different versions of the Quota game, the main thing I want to be sure of is that the program works the way we are playing, with the same point values and the same adjustment for over and under.

Because of some skepticism about some handicaps, we didn't start with 36 minus the handicap.  We played one adjustment round.  Guess what, there were some questionable handicaps.

Maybe I should have added "for us in our game" at the end of my comment. I wasn't talking about a quota game or any game at any other course.

Almost none of the players have handicaps.

Nobody keeps a ledger, we just all know each other enough for the captains to pick a team. Somebody would have to take on the duty of recording all of the scores every week. Finding a volunteer might be a problem.

If I can find out the app they used I'll tell our players about it but I doubt if it will go any further than that.
