hi everyone! i'm thinking of opening a business selling golf equipments but more focusing on the golfwear. my business will be based in Shanghai.

i would like to know what kind of clothings or style that you prefer while golfing. also, what would you need in and bring to the golfclub? what are other equipments needed?

any sugesstions and ideas about golf would be very helpful for me in opening the new business.

The weather/climate where your business is will be a very deciding factor!

I buy a lot of golf attire.  Most that you find anymore seems to be best suited to really warm weather.  Shirts, shorts, pants all are made of very lightweight, moisture wicking material.

Because I live in a cold-weather climate, HALF of what I buy are items like Under Armor heat gear shirts to wear under golf shirts.  Also buy a lot of windproof, zip up to the chin overshirts.  Also have to have a rain suit because you never know when the weather will change.  Lastly, I have a nice Nike jacket that was made with golf in mind.  Wind, water resistant, zips up to the chin, light weight but keeps me warm in temps around 50 degrees.

Brands of clothing and accessories I buy:  Nike, Adidas, (mostly) and the occasional Oakley, Puma or Under Armor.

I also like playing in warm weather wearing shorts and golf shirt only.  I do own a couple pairs of golf slacks/trouser, but prefer wearing shorts over pants.

You're going to open a business selling golf gear and clothing, but know little to nothing about golf.

My suggestion would be to open a business doing something that you know a lot about.

bad business to sell men's golf apparel.  guys don't like to spend money on clothing.  if they do spend money on apparel, its usually good deals to be had online.  women love to buy apparel but many don't like to golf.  this is just my perspective though.
