I've been playing golf for about 4 months, I purchased a used set of irons that are taylormade midsize burners with graphite regular flex shafts (approx mid 90s irons) 2-pw I was just needing an opinion about getting fitted this season for new irons or would it be best to wait til next season after more play time. I hit the burners fairly well but have been told I may get more distance with a cavity back and newer desighn.

Unless you plan on playing a lot of fall golf, you might wait until next year to get fitted for new irons.

During the winter, you can test out clubs at the golf shops. Since you're new to playing, try out different iron sets to see which ones you like best. Also, you can visit some of the winter and early spring demo days and expos.

Then, get a fitting to help you make final choice.

Focus, connect and follow through!

On average I've been playing twice per week at least once a week I am just in between on making the choice if its worth dropping the cash or not I've even thought about buying a lower budget new set like the walter hagon ms2 set

My opinion is what you're currently playing is better than the ms2. If you want something cheaper but a bit more modern, check out a newer set of used burners... Or new burners, they're not that expensive

That's kind of what I've been thinking of doing and getting last year's model for a little bit of savings and if I get fitted and buy that day they knock the fitting fee off so either way I'll be paying just for the irons
