Not surprising that he's moved on from MacGregor, but wouldn't have guessed he'd go to Adams. It will be interesting to see what sticks end up in his bag. At the BMW skins game his irons were forged MacGregor blades (they weren't the M675s, not sure of the model) and Adams doesn't make that type of club. The Idea Pro Forged is still a cavity back. He wasn't using a hybrid of any kind either, which is Adams' bread and butter.

Wow, I don't understand that move at all. I'm not a fan of Adams Golf or Macgregor, but I can't see any pro choosing Adams over Macgregor. It had to have been a money issue.

nike makes forged blades but tiger doesnt actually play them does he?

what will happen is adams will call japan and have irons made just for him like every other pro out there. or something will happen like with titleist they'll have new driver, new irons, new everything that only the pros will get.

Either that or money issue like already stated.

NO, actually they signed Rory and Baddeley.

i forgot about rory. it does seems that adams decided it was time to open their wallets and sign some young PGA Tour studs. neither of those gents would have come cheap.

Badds had voiced concern with MacGregor back in 2007, apparently some endorsement payments due him were not made. Interesting that Badds would leave MacGregor after fellow Aussie Greg Norman has become the figure-head of MacGregor.

As for Adams products, I love the hybirds I use but I've never tried their irons or driver. It's definitely a marketing move on their part to attract younger golfers to their brand. Prior to signing Rory and Badds, Adams most high profile players were on the Champions Tour.

Going back a few years, I've just never liked their clubs. The wedges, fairway woods, or drivers. I've never hit the irons though, mainly because I'm not in the market for a game improvement style iron. Just personal preference I guess.

Badds is a stud, that doesnt make much sense to me, about as much as Rory does.......Tiger probably had something to do with the Rory thing, lol....."Dudes gonna bad mouth me, ok then, you will now play with a stick and a rolled up ball of tape"

I'm not a fan of Rory "Big Mouth" Sabbatini at all, so I don't care whoever he signs with. But Badds is an excellent young player and I think Adams image of game improvement clubs doesn't suit him at all. I was thinking between Titleist, Mizuno or TaylorMade as his new sponsor. Now if it was money issue, I'm sure TaylorMade could work it out.

What's in the bag:
Driver: r7 SuperQuad 10.5° ~ UST Proforce V2 65g Regular

The idea pro iron that Adams makes is more of a players iron than comparable irons of taylormade and cleveland. People like David Toms are moving away from blades to something that still has the "players" look, but some forgiveness as well... R7 TP, CG reds, etc. I would even argue that the idea pro has a more players look than the Callaway X-tours. It is a very similar club to the Titleist 695CB. The only thing Adams is lacking is a good muscle back/blade iron. Just because Adams integrates hybrids into most/all of the stock sets doesn't mean they are more of a game improvement company. Nike, Taylormade, and Cleveland all have some pretty wide soled silly looking irons, and you can always order an Adams set with regular irons instead of the hybrids, just don't buy off the rack.

Maybe I'm a little self conscious because I just picked up the idea pro forged irons, but they were the best looking players iron that wasn't a blade/muscle back. The Titleist 695CB and Mizuno MP-57 and MP-60 were the closest in comparison. Here's a link to what Sand Trap had to say... http://thesandtrap.com/equipment/clu...d_irons_review I think people really stereotype Adams and that's too bad, because they definately make some nice players clubs. Hopefully they will make a blade soon and really enter the pro market full force.

Badds said that MacG just stopped paying him w/o any warning at all..he tried to work it out, but got no response. Late last year he started taking their equip out of the bag and trying other stuff..
