Is Head Tilting in Backswing a Bad Thing?

Apologies if this has been addressed before, I couldn't find it.

Is tilting your head away from the target in the backswing to allow your shoulders to turn more a bad move? Seems like most pros try to keep their head tilt pretty level during the backswing and then rotate it towards the target as they swing through. Some, however, do have some tilt away from the target in the backswing.

I've noticed I strike the ball better when I try to keep the head tilt level, but it restricts my shoulder turn.

You can turn it a bit… but that's different than "tilting" it. You generally want the tilts to remain fairly neutral.
