Girlfriend and I are visiting Denver in a month and want to play while we're out there, probably 9 holes. We are both novices and are looking for a nice course with good views that won't be too difficult for us... Kind of a specific set of criteria, but does anyone have recommendations?

Hello! Welcome to TST! I lived in the area for awhile a few years ago. City Park is a nice track and good for beginners. Here's a good site to look:

City Park’s golf course is closed right now because it’s being renovated.

For 9 holes and good views, look at Homestead (back 9 is better) or Fox Hollow (Links or Canyon). Common Ground has good views, but I’m not sure they do 9 hole tee times.

There are many very good courses in Denver area which are golfer friendly and scenic.
It really depends on where you are staying. You can go north, south, east or west a few miles and be close to several.
Fox Hollow was one of my favorites.

Completely agree with @DeadMan on his recommendations.  Homestead is an executive course, par 65, and is always in great shape.  Right at the base of the foothills, it has some beautiful views.  Another recommendation that I think offers 9 holes is Evergreen Golf Course, which is maybe 30 minutes up I-70 from Denver.  It's a muni, but also a mountain course that's a lot of fun.

Evergreen is a really good suggestion. Just be aware that it's a little quirky on a couple of holes. But you're playing in the mountains, so the beauty and the overall experience will probably make up for that.

I'll be in Denver after Labor Day for only a week.

Any chance of golfing together Wed - Friday?

Send me a PM if you can play.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
