Hi, I have been playing for a number of years using a 2nd hand set of G15, 1/2 inch longer 1.5 degree upright regular shaft. Out of curiosity I got fitted for irons and was recommend a set of Mizuno jpx 919 hot metal 1 inch longer and 3 degree upright, stiff shaft (i was told due to shaft length). I play off 21, playing and enjoying society golf 20 times a year, just wanted to ask if anyone had gone from g15 to jpx 919 as I cant decide if the cost of new clubs is worth it.

The cost being "worth it" is entirely up to you. I like shiny things and I'm a big fan of the Mizuno hot metal pros. They are on my list to potentially be my next set of clubs.

You CAN play the same set of irons your entire golfing life if you'd like.  However, I suggest when you test new clubs, bring your current gamers. Side by side is great. You can really focus on the differences. Unless you current set is really worn, or it doesn't fit you, in which case definitely go for the new sticks.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.
