I really like KJ (I call him the Ice Man...you know Top Gun reference) But Woods is just solid Money! If any one could beat him in this tourney I thought it would be KJ, looks like Woods( Ice Man +) has got it in my book (I know...really putting myself out on a limb...

Hope to see Tiger vs. Woody, and Veej if he can pull it out making the semi's...like to see a Tiger-Veej final match.

I'm calling Woods vs Cink in the final. Stewart is tough in these match play events....he's already taken down some pretty big names too!
Jimenez, Harrington, Monty, Cabrera.....Impressive. Definitely a nice Final Four.

Cink vs. Woods would be an awesome ending. Remember the playoff at Firestone a year and a half ago? A course and tournament that Tiger dominates and Cink takes him into a playoff for a few holes.

Yeah...that was awesome! I was there in 2005 when Tiger won it (the year after Cink had won it). Unfortunately, not for the final round though. Just for Wed. practice and Thurs.....or was it Tues. Practice and Wed. Round. Anyway....

Stewart has won at Firestone as well. They both play well there....and in the match play format. But I don't understand what you mean by a course and tournament that Tiger dominates......he's only won 6 out of the last 9 at Firestone....?

It is going to be an excellent final between Woods and Cink - clearly the two in form players at the tournament. Cink has really beat some excellent matchplay players and will not be easy for Woods tomorrow - in this afternoon's match against Justin Leonard, Cink was 7 under for the first 8 holes - ok, so this is slightly different to strokeplay but it is still pretty impressive scoring!

Woods is going to be strong favorite tomorrow clearly but I think it is going to be a very exciting 36 holes! This is definitely a tournament that I always look forward to and this year has lived up to my expectations! Just a little note on Henrik Stenson who put up a valiant defence of his trophy from 12 months ago - I just hope he can continue this form into the rest of the season because last year after winning he kind of fell away a little!

Woods - THE MAN TO BEAT!

Even though it was never really close, I thought yesterdays match was pretty fun to watch. A bit closer would have been nice....3and2 or 2and1.....but it was still a lot of fun to watch.

I thought for a second that Cink was going to mount a comeback on the next to last hole....No. 10.....when he eagled and Tiger's eagle putt lipped out....
Then I came to my senses.

I like KJ a lot as well. I think he's doing a great job of maximizing his talent and showing consistent improvement. He doesn't seem to get rattled at all.

    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
