Please help me stop pushing it right with the driver, irons are good chipping is good just frustrated by driving right at the minute

A guaranteed to way to improve is to ignore people who've never seen you hit a ball diagnose your problem and tell you what to do and seek help from someone who can actually watch you hit balls.

A decent teacher will be able to help you after seeing you hit two balls. And that's only to confirm what they saw on the first swing. Someone who has not ever seen you play has no idea, because for all they know you might be doing something outrageously incorrect. How would they know you're getting "stuck on the downswing"or something? And telling you to exercise a "reverse pivot". Seriously??

My guess is also that irons and chipping are not "good", but your lack of experience makes you think they are.

Save yourself years of frustration and have a lesson. Best not to ask people who don't have a clue about your game.

That's my common miss. For me, its the right shoulder not turning enough or lagging back a bit. One thing that helps me is pretending I'm slamming a door closed. That motion really involves the whole right side. Best of luck.

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
