I feel like Mizuno woods might be the least hyped up clubs out there. I can't even name a specific model of their woods.... even the 3 wood I demo'd for an entire summer... I remember it was dark blue... small head.. and that's it.

The other thing I remember is that that 3 wood was responsible for setting me up for more eagles than any other club I've played with. And that it hit straight as an arrow and in a way that was both exciting and dissapointing... it hit just about as far as my driver (cleveland hiBore XL at the time).

This makes me curious about their drivers. I LOVED their 3 wood... the way it sat, the way it hit.... seemed like a real feel club, almost reminiscent of the original war birds and taylor made burners in terms of playbility. I do feel like the club hit the ball unusually long as well. For me to be hitting 250 yard 3 woods was bizarre... I actually wish I left driver at home for many of those rounds because that 3 wood was all I needed off the tee. But alas.. the mental game.

Anyway, do any of you have experience or recommendations about their drivers???

I haven't actually tried the mp-600 (newest mp model driver from mizzy) but from what i've read, it is just as long as all the others: g10, burner etc. but a bit less forgiving on mishits. Feel is solid and good. The fast track thing is useful for switching around ball flights a little... seems like mizzy's version of tm's r7 series. One part I can comment on with actual experience is they look fantastic.

The MP-600 is the new Mizuno better players driver. I tried it but only on a simulator. It looks great though. There is also the MX-560. Mizuno makes great woods too. I have a F-50. The new F-60 just came out. Of course, everyone knows Mizuno irons.

We'll have a review of the MP-600 in a few weeks. I just mailed it off to George today.

I've been using one for the last 6 months or so as you can see from my signature. I demo'ed 4 other drivers at the time I made my decision to get it. The closest one for me was a Cobra model I can't remember. I demo'ed a Titleist, Sumo, and FT-1 on top of that...though the Mizuno drivers tend to be hit or miss with people.

I demoed Mizuno MX-560 when it was launched few months ago and I can honestly say that it's a solid club. Sounds loud a bit, but still okay unlike Nike SUMO driver. I would definitely suggest you to try the MX-560.

I'm excited. My launcher 400 has taken too much of a beating and the shaft is too stiff so I picked up a HiBore XL 10.5 deg from Dick's for 200 bucks....

gonna use that for now but eager to get my hands on the MP600, which is definitely still in the picture for this season.

I purchased the 560 after a Mizuno demo day. Kept it a month and traded it back in. Wasn't any longer than my R7460, but the awful sound became more than I could stand. The range I use during the winter has tarps between the stalls, which held the sound. I would have guys (or ladies) from three or four stalls away coming over and asking what the heck I was hitting. That was what they were asking, what they meant was, "could you please quit making that ear piercing sound with that thing?"

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
