So, after a long break, my wife and I jumped back in with both feet. New clubs, trying different balls, new carts...whew! With that being said, we have saved a ton of money by shopping smart. Callaway Pre-owned gets 5 stars! Rock Bottom Golf gets 5 stars! Global Golf and Golf Avenue both get 5 stars! Now, GolfEtail was the only triple bogey company we dealt with. All I can say about them is FORE!!!

With that being said, who can you recommend or warn us about? Cheers!

Glad to see you and your bride getting back into "The Swing" of things.... See what I did there.

Rockbottom and TGW.com have for a long time been sort of my go tos online. One thing I like about Rockbottom is the constantly send me 20% off coupons via email. I like TGW because they seem to, at least usually, have the best customization options. I agree with you about Global Golf also. They are solid. 2ndSwing and CarlsGolfLand are also sometimes worth a look.

GolfEtail is fine for what they are, IMO. But you just have to remember they are kind of the Big Lots of the online golf world. No offense to Big Lots. They certainly have a place. But the idea is cut costs down as low as possible and pretty much sell overstock. Limited service, limited selection, most of their stuff is non-current product. I guess you CAN find some nuggets in there but usually there's a reason that nobody bought what they have back when it was on the shelf at the bigger stores.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

So true! My buddy likes to buy last years releases this year at the local golf shop because he knows they'll be marked down. He does not go online. But, he wants a Callaway driver and guess what? You can't find last years model in the golf shop! You can find just about everybody else's, but not Callaway. They have taken over the Driver market and always sell out!

    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
    • I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
