Sunday I'll be playing Mystic Rock , site of the 84 Lumber Classic. Woohooo!

This is the first "name" course I've played on in a few years. The first course that I can see on TV in a professional tournament, that is. I'm really looking forward to it.

I wish the darn course had an online yardage book so that I could formulate some kind of game plan!!! The best I can find are these photos .

Oh wait, I could just watch last year's TourCast. Not the best solution, but it'd work...

Erik: What'd you think of Mystic Rock? I played there in 1997, when it was fairly new. I liked the older course there, too. I thought Mystic Rock was a bit contrived in spots, but was a fun 18.

Nemacolin is an amazing resort. Hard to get to, but worth the trip.

I liked it. I think it was a good test of golf, except I think it's a bit tricked up like you say. On some holes, there are fairway bunkers stretching from 260-300 on both sides and the fairway is darn narrow. There are also some bad blind-ish spots - you can see the green and the pin, but maybe not some trouble in front of the green, for example.

Overall, and once you've played it once, a good test because you know where you're going. It's got a linksy feel on some holes and a very American feel on others.

The older course, Don, wasn't in very good shape when we drove past a few holes. Maybe they don't keep that one up quite as nice.
