Greetings folks.  Some basic info below about me:

I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year
My current handicap index or average score is: my last 3 rounds were 87.86.92. Playing again tomorrow and Saturday.
My typical ball flight is: fade/slide
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Im trying to eliminate, reduce coming from over the top.

A bit more history about me.  I started playing a year ago and last October, gutted my home theater room and put in a Trackman to practice and improve and play sim golf.  Ive been taking lessons recently and they have helped. My average drive is about 250 or so, usually has a bit of a fade and this is likely due to me coming from over the top on my swing. My swing direction in Trackman is usually -10--15 and as much as I try to fix that, it just doesnt improve.  I know if I  can come in more from the inside, I can add distance and minimize my slice.  My swing speed is about 103-104. Ball speed is mid 140s, smash factor 1.4-1.45.   I know what I need to do with my swing and my coach is great but ill be ending lessons next week so I found this community and hopefully can get some feedback on things to do to improve.  If I can get this video to attach, you will see that I feel crowded, bunched up.  I dont have that smooth swing that you see with pros with great extension. I tend to get a chicken wing in my arm on extension-  I know, lots of info but my goal is to be a better golfer and break 80 by year end. I play/practice on the sim daily and try to get a couple of rounds in a week on the real course.  Thanks for following and offering whatever expertise you may have.  I welcome all criticism and am not afraid to hear what I need to do to improve.

Thanks.  I’ll get a you tube account set up or something similar.  In the meanwhile, tried real hard to not come from over the top today- to get a more neutral swing plane on the Trackman - it felt so strange!  Need lots of work here.

Haven't had a chance to upload a video of my swing but here are some Trackman numbers for my driver. I would say the ball flight is fairly typical of what I get- a fade (used to be a slice).  Clubhead speed is tpyically in the 103/104 range.  Ball speed in the mid 140s and total distance around 240ish.  I didnt swing super hard on this one but some issues Im trying to fix- swing direction and club path are super negative.  Attack angle is -8.1 usually its around -3 to -4.  -8.1 seems like an anomaly. I know I need to swing from the inside- and that will fix much of this and hopefully turn my fade into a draw.

I know you haven't uploaded your swing yet but this might be a good read for you:

I'm not seeing -8.1 in your picture. -8.1 sounds like a misread from hitting it low on the face.

In the last shot I posted It’s -7.5.  I just got off the golf course.  Shot a 43 on front 9 and 46 on back 9 and that 46 should have been a 42 except for the beers that were involved.  Regardless, I’m shooting in the 80s- I know I see a path to low 80s.  Just am a bit frustrated about the non ideal numbers.  Will get that swing video up soon and will check out that thread you posted.  Ty.

It says your club path is -7.5°, not your AoA. Your AoA on that shot is -4.9°.

Did you mistype in the first post I quoted?

Yes. Apologies.  Didn’t mean to write angle of attack.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
