Hi, I am a newer golfer, toward the end of last summer I bought a new set of clubs, based on my price range and the selections I ended up getting an Adam scott idea set,

I like the clubs generally but the set is: PW -7 Irons
6 - 3 Hybrids, I've never seen hybrids as small as a 6 iron, and sometimes when Im in the rough and odd lies the 6 seems a little bulky now as the hybrid, is this a good thing to have hybrids at such small club leveles? I am really not versed enough to even know WHY some clubs are hybrids and why i can hit my 3iron hybrid better than my old 3 iron etc.

Any thoughts comments appreciated.

Hybrids generally inspire more confidence, hit the ball higher, and are easier to hit. You can swing easier with a hybrid and it gets up in the air easier. Rough is generally not as much of a problem with hybrids too. As a general rule.

IIRC, Dana Quigley uses - or once used - hybrids up to the 7-iron. And I've seen them in existence for up to the pitching wedge (although it's hardly that anymore in that form). Use what works for you and seems right.
