Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I have had no formal instruction and have basically built my swing from watching youtube videos and tips from friends. Any advice you have would be appreciated.

I've been Playing Golf for: 2 yrs
My current average score is:  100-105
My typical ball flight is: slice
The "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: slice and occasionally toping the ball

Welcome to The Sand Trap. Thanks for posting. A couple of admin things.

  1. on the down-the-line angle, have the ball line upon your toe line. It helps us see your positions a bit better.
  2. Film in slow motion and edit the videos to just the swing.
  3. Give us a bit more detail on ball flight. You say slice, but does it start left then go right or start right and go further right?

That being said, there are some great full swing drills in the thread below. Start with Day 1 - 5. Film yourself doing the drills and post the video here. There are no short cuts to a better swing, but proper practice can get you there faster.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll redo the video this week and include the drills.

As far as the ball flight, it’s mostly my driver and 3w when off a tee that I slice, starts slightly right off center and ends with a huge slice.
My irons are generally fairly straight or a slight push

Thanks again

Ball flight height is also on the low side

That is probably because the ball is forward in your stance so that will promote a more of a fade/slice since the arc of the path goes left.

    • Day 107 - More pitching practice, playing around with trajectory.
    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
