I've been Playing Golf for: 22 years. I started when I was 19 after quitting playing ice hockey. From first picking up club to getting down to single figures took 4 years. Then another 4 to get down to my lowest HC of 5.5. Then work and life got in the way and it slowly crept up to 7 over a couple of years and I stopped playing. I didn't touch my clubs for 4 years, then played maybe once or twice a year at work events. Then last year I started to play a bit more as my son declared an interest in playing. Over the last 12 months I've played maybe 8 full rounds and 15 times on a par 3 pitch and putt.

I've never been a long hitter as such, but used to have very good distance control and a very consistent ball flight. I'm a picker more than a digger.

My current handicap index or average score is: Don't have an official HC but shoot low 90s.
My typical ball flight is: Mid, with a fade bias.
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: My bad shot with a driver is high push slice off the toe. Similar with irons but at the minute I'm flatting or topping a lot of iron shots.

My flexibility is terrible, mostly due to a neck and sternum injury.

Watching the video I think I need to stand more upright and closer to the ball. I tried that and completely fresh aired 2 in a row 🤪

Welcome to The Sand Trap. Thanks for posting. You have a pretty athletic swing. Can you post a face on view and maybe do them in slow motion? For the down-the-line, have the camera along your toe line.

The grip looks a bit off. Almost like a 10 finger grip. Maybe slightly too much in the palm of the left hand.

I would say, too much hinging in the arms and wrist from the start of the backswing. The body turn should carry the club back.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
