I nominate Charles Howell III

For 20 years, Howell has played in 25-to-30 tournaments a season, played well enough to make most cuts, and collected a nice check. Howell’s career can be summed up as steady, if unremarkable, even if that might sound like an oversimplification for someone who’s also earned three PGA Tour wins. His earnings for the 2019-2020 season was over $1MM. This marks the 20th season in a row he’s cleared that number, a streak that leaves him nearly peerless. The only other player with such absurd longevity is Phil Mickelson, who’s cleared $1 million in earnings 24 years in a row. Since 2001, Howell has made no fewer than 23 starts each season, meaning he’s played a full schedule every year.

“If you ain't first, you're last.” (Ricky Bobby, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby). There may not be many trophies on Howell’s mantel, but there are quite a few zeros in his bank account.

He’s sure as hell not underrated by his peers.

I do think he’s under performed for his talent level, and he would probably say the same, BUT it’s more about whether he’s done what he’s wanted to do. I think he could have won more without the tinkering, for example, but that’s not who he is.

I always call him ‘Thurston’. He is steady, but just seems to miss out of winning a lot.

    • Yeah - I'll keep an eye on that - I've been across the line for about forever, so I assume that I want to overexaggerate the laid off bit to get it closer to square when I take a real swipe at the ball.
    • Those are better. Watch where the shaft points at the top, too. Bit over-rolled there (laid off).
    • First swings at after a 2.5 month forced hiatus. No surgery in the forecast at the moment! Doc said okay to start easing in gently over a few weeks. The effort is barely 30% here but felt solid.  I think my swing changed a few years ago after my right ankle injury (weight shift profile). I wonder if this may bring about another change. I certainly won't pivot on to the knee (left) aggressively any time soon, if ever. Could even be a good thing..heh.
    • I mean, I just assume he mistyped something. 🙂 Promos were on X/Twitter and today I put the promo on IG. The full video is landscape (not good for Instagram) and too big for X (file size), so it's always been on YouTube.
