I don't really like the look or feel of Nike or Taylormade either. Nike irons I have hit seem too clunky lacking alot feel. Nike drivers feel like waffle irons on a stick. I used to like Taylormade drivers but don't like the way they set up anymore for some reason. To each his own I guess.

I guess I won't ever buy from ping..

Nothing personal, I have just heard stories of how you have to know their color codes to know what metal alloy is in each club head, then you have to know which alloy you want and then... and then.... and then...

Seems to be too many choices. (if that's possible)

They also don't seem to age well. I've seen pings that are just a couple years old and look almost green with corrosion.

Thats too much work for me.

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"

Golfsmith. They just don't have a knowledgeable staff and are pushing products because of the name.

Today, I went because I was interested in hitting some 460CC drivers. There was a woman hitting various drivers, the same distance, about 50 yards. Had she been out on the course she would have killed about 200 worms. The caddie never once recommended a higher degree driver, different shaft, etc. He kept handing her different Taylormade drivers, then Callaway and then gave her a Nike Sumo driver. I really wanted to say something when he said "You're not hitting them far but you're really hitting it straight."

This woman was likely to leave with a $250 driver and no idea why she could not get the ball, airborne. I'm sure he was going to recommend a box of Nike Platinum One balls, too. You know, "Tiger uses them."

    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
    • Current state of the program.  I can only do 25-50% swing speed, probably under 50% since I was hitting the ball out to the 150 yard marker (yay!),  to get the arms down and somewhat turn the body through impact. I mean somewhat. Arms down + body turn don't like to mesh at all. Anything faster and the body does stupid uncoordinated stuff. Mostly, I am stuck in the old pattern of staling the turn and flipping at the ball.  So, until I see progress. I am not posting anything here.
    • Thanks for the video! Do you think a ball between the arms type of training aid would get me in a better position? I also have a Tour Striker Swing Trainer (PlaneMate-like contraption) if that could be helpful.
