my little bro picked up the r7 Draw driver from golfsmith for 200 bucks. it works great for him, hes about a 20 cap, but you should try and demo some at the range before you buy if possible.

ill make another suggestion! try the R-5, that might work out better for you. but for the draw driver, it wont necessarily cause a bigger draw, it will more likely reduce slicing, which makes it a more forgiving club IMO. hope this helps

I'm known for pushing the Cobra drivers, so I'm going to inject that. I don't think the sound of the *-Speed drivers is all that weird.

Do you like your m-speed 3W? My love for my f-speed 3W helped convince me to get the f-speed driver. Anyway, it's worth a shot. I got my f-speed, right shaft and loft and everything, for $130 last November. I think my handicap was around 28 at the time.

I definatly suggest the Nike Sasquatch Sumo. It doesnt make a loud sound, it sounds sweet. And is not weird shaped. It is slightly forgiving but I have to admit, it does take some time to get used to.

Try it out. You can get it now for I think around $200-220

Give the Cleveland Hibore or Hibore XL a try, they are going cheap at the moment $99 on rockbottom golf, i got one about 3 months ago and have dropped 6 shots since!!

Posted
I loved the Hibore..At the great prices for new hibore's today--they are well worth it.One other club that I would recommend is the Macgregor MacTec--it is a very underrated club that is pretty forgiving and plenty long..Best of Luck

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

Try TM Burner - discounted on

I agree, I just got a Burner myself, my buddy works for Adidas, so I got the employee discount...The burner is a great driver.

I tried the Hi-Bore XL, Sumo, Cobra etc......the TM Drivers felt the best.

I want to pound the MEATHEAD & The METROSEXUAL from the Slazenger RAW commercial..

I respectfully disagree, I thougt the SUMO was loud as hell and felt like a tin can at the same time...I hated it.

I think one of the most underated drivers out there is the Cleveland HiBore. I bought one last year because everything I read said "forgiving" and it is. My distance and accuracy improved as well. Everyone that has tried it loves it and at least one friend went out and bought one based on the few swings he made with mine. Give it a shot, I think you be pleaseantly surprised.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
