Guys, i'm looking for a good coach in the orange county area. Hopefully in the $50-60/hr range. Not sure if thats even possible. I used to see a guy named Craig Chapman in the desert who charged me about $80/hr. I can't afford too much but would like a coach who can really help me get closer to being a scratch golfer. I think about 5-10 lessons would really help me.

thanks!!

A buddy of mine takes lessons at Saddleback Driving Range ( http://www.saddlebackrange.com/ ) at Saddleback CC, about half an hour from you. I can find out who his coach is if you like. Alternately, there are tons of instructors there, you could find them and chat with them about your goals and plans. There's five instructors there.

Next month is Play Golf America, I believe - and comes with the ten-minute lessons from some PGA professionals. Use this to shop around?

It seems the last few Aprils, the PGA has done Play Golf America, where PGA teaching professionals will give free ten-minute lessons to people by appointment ; the idea being to help people get more out of the game by finding an instructor they like. A link is available at

Kekoa, not to h/j your thread, but are you the same Kekoa as the one on S2ki?

Don't really know of any good swing coaches in the OC, btw. The best swing coach for the money is a video camera with slo-mo play back, IMO. :)
