Sorry to go off topic but is Faldo swinging two plane?

I take it your going by Jim Hardy's definition of one plane and two plane swings. The answer is no, Faldo's swing fits the one plane model.

From what I know, that's not a one-plane swing by Hardy's definition. His arms don't match the plane of his shoulders.

From what I know, that's not a one-plane swing by Hardy's definition. His arms don't match the plane of his shoulders.

Hardy says beside having the arms and shoulders at close to the same height the one plane swing also has the following characteristics:

Their shoulders turn around the tilted spine, and the arms swing around the torso while the two plane players have their arms move vertically (pages 4 and 5 of his original book). In Faldo's books he talks about both his shoulders turning level around his tilted spine, and the arms going along for the ride (no lifting action). While Faldo had/has a slightly different shoulder tilt/plane then left arm plane at the top (as do Els, Elkington and a huge amount of other so called one plane golfers) it is not a huge amount. Not anything in the realm of what Karrie Webb used to have, and Sophie Gustafson currently has in her swing. If you asked Hardy and showed him the pictures I think he'd tell you Faldo is using a one plane swing (as Hardy has stated about Faldo in the past). I don't think Hardy's pictures (of himself) in his books and magazine articles is good pictures to base it on, as he seems to exagerate the positions for emphasis. How many tour players do you actually see with the exteme posture and positions Hardy (himself) models in his pictures?

That's where we'll have to agree to disagree. I think it's a significant enough amount that calling his swing a one-plane swing isn't accurate. You think it's a small enough amount.

So be it.
