Hi All,

I recently purchased the tourstriker planemate hoping to improve my overly inside-out swing.  I watched the setup video and the day 1 video and followed the instructions and placed the short band on my pitching wedge.  The video instructs to place the clasp a few inches down on the shaft.  When I do that and take my normal address position, it feels like the club wants to come up and I have to exert significant force just to keep it on the ground.  I'm 6'1" so I'm wondering if it needs to be placed higher on the shaft since I'm taller than average.  Also, for those who have used the planemate, how much tension should you be feeling during the day 1 protocol?  Should the tension stay constant throughout the swing?  I tinkered with bringing the clasp up higher on the shaft but then was not able to feel much tension.  Thanks so much for reading my post.

I think the position is more of a guideline. I have long arms for my height. I put mine so there was just enough tension to feel the resistance but not feel like I was really pushing. Play around with position until you know it’s there but not enough to give you fatigue after only a couple of reps.

As for Day 1 tension, again just enough so you feel it, but not fatigue you after a couple of reps. You should be able to do the 30 reps in a row.

You’re also likely wearing the belt a bit too high.

    • Day 314 - Putting some things together. Better grip/setup, fuller backswing, better finishing position. Filmed some swings, happy with the progress.
    • Day 130: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
