How do pros handle long par 4's??

If you average 280 off the tee, you probably hit a 7 150ish? You'd be left with a 7 iron to the green... doesn't sound bad to me.

dido ..... Why do you find these holes particularly intimidating?

first, if you average 280 then a 430-450 par four should not be "long".

Tour players are not "all" hitting 300 yard drives, but they do hit their clubs in general much farther than mortals. If one can hit just a 260 yard drive and then hit a 5 or 6 iron 190, what's hard about a 450 yard par 4?

A 430 yard par 4 is long for me because I hit 230-240 off the tee on average and struggle to hit a 5-wood 200 on line. If you think a 430 yard par 4 is long, you are not hitting your drives as far as you think you are. But that is another thread.
