Using 5 wood, 2 hybrid or 2 iron.

I heard from one of the players saying that going with either 5 wood, 2 hybrid or even a 2 iron is personal choice and does not have much to do with performance.

Do you use a 5 wood or 2 hybrid (2 iron) and why did you go with your choice?

I see most pros going with 5 wood but rarely do I see a 2 hybrid... (At least the Asian tour pros)

Isn't it more difficult to use a wood in the rough compared to hybrid as well?

I got a 2 hybrid because I needed a solution out of the rough on bad drives. I really like this choice because it gets the ball higher that my 5 wood did on long approach shots, and is dynomite out of the rough.

why would a hybrid get a ball higher than a 5 wood?

I have a 2H. I use it over the 5W because it is more versatile....good off the tee, fairway and out of the rough.

I had a 2I. Hit it a little shorter than my 3I. Didn't make sense for me to keep it in the bag.

I have a Mizuno F-50 5wood and I like it too much to get rid of it. I guess I'm looking at 2 hybrids sometime soon because of their playability. I might try a 2 iron for fun.
