Does Size Matter?

I keep seeing this Ad of a 50+ year old golf instructor. They keep on emphasis that he is short but can hit great distances. I wonder if being tall is an advantage. Do tall Guys generate more force in their swings ?

I’ve seen many short people out drive taller people.  I think it is more the quality of the swing & contact than the height of the golfer.  

I just pulled the link below, in glancing at the top 10 Bryson & Rory are the top 2 but several below them are taller.

Being tall creates a longer lever, so yes.

All things being equal then leverage from being tall will help but not all things are equal,  Rory is 5’ 10” and avg drive is @ 318.4 while Dustin Johnson is 6’ 4” and averages @ 312.5.

Tall people have a distinct advantage.

I am not saying they do not have an advantage. I am just saying the quality of swing/contact can offset a difference in height.  And since we can not change our height we should focus on what we can change.

That's not the question at hand.

So, again… tall players have an advantage, yes.

That's why equipment companies make longer shafts. And why the USGA may be setting the driver shaft limit to 46".

      I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers

      Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.

      So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
