Ive seen them in some peoples club lists... But i havent heard any reviews of them... I wanna build a combo set to start practice with and for some reason these struck me as pretty cool, and for a good price.

Well, a friend of mine told me that GolfSmith has a nifty deal. I haven't gone to verify this myself yet, but allegedly the deal is that they have $15 club-building seminars, in which you build a sand-wedge, and keep it afterwards. Niftier? It's free with a coupon you get for signing up for their free card.

Now, I'm not a regular at GolfSmith - I buy from a competitor with regularity, since I think RD has better deals around here - but I'm going to do this. The wedge is Snake Eyes. If I do this, I'll post a write-up of the process and something about the club.

I built myself a 5-SW set of Snake eyes Python OS. I sold them for my Adams, but still use the SW.

Snake eyes was a very popular wedge back in the day....there are still a few pros using snake eye wedges...if the stories are true....

Golfsmith bought them just like they bought Lynx, Killer Bee, etc.
There is nothing wrong w/ snake eyes the python os clubs played very nice, and there is a lot of confidence and pride when you have assembled your own clubs.

I also use a Snake eyes driver, and balls

The Snake Eyes heads are as good in qaulity as those as Mizunos and Titleists etc etc.

The main advantage of using a company such as Snake Eyes (via Golfsmith) is the opportunity to get custom fit for your clubs, this opportunity is not always available when buying brand name clubs.

I would definately recommend Snake Eyes.

I just did this clubmaking workshop this past Saturday. Built a 600W Forged 52deg wedge, and bent it to 48deg. The workshop was a lot of fun, I learned a lot and I love the wedge.

Note: The 600W is not the wedge head they normally give you as part of the class, but you can pick your head and pay the difference.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
