I've had the 1516 Victory Hop Devil IPA and found it to be outstanding. And I'm from NH so I've had Redhook and Smuttynose. Redhook is OK but Smuttynose I like a lot. I agree with you on Stone. Heck, if you're lucky enough to be in a market that supplies Stone IPA, that might be the best beer for the money.

Red Hook is just ok, there Blonde is just amazing! And almost without a doubt, Stone is #1 beer! Unfortunately, I struggle to pay $16 for a 6pack! LOL

We goto a Brew fest in Newtown, Pa and Stone was there, the guy and I knew each other so well when i left he's on my christmas card list!!! LOL Pete

I had a couple Sam Adams Summer Ale this past weekend, and while I didn't like them as much as the spring White Ale, it was pretty damn smooth.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I was at a 60th Birthday Party for my best friends mom Saturday. We were at his brother's house and the guy makes his own home brew and has it in kegs. He has a cooler with five taps on it and had a great selection. He had a smooth pilsner, a hefeweisen, an IPA, a dark wheat and a stout. Needless to say I tried them all...twice...and a few three or four times. It was a great party. Unfortunately I had to be up at 6:15 AM yesterday. Not easy to do when you go to bed at 2:30.

Anything from the

Except their Half-E-Weizen. Had that a month or so ago and it was awful. Tasted like a highly carbonated seltzer/orange juice. Perhaps I got a bad bottle or maybe the beer just sucks. I agree that Rogue generally is pretty good though.

Is Stone IPA up to $16 a sixer these days? Unfortunately I'm actually in Florida right now and don't have the best access to it so haven't had it in a little while. When I first had it, I don't know, 3 or 4 years ago, it was $7 a six pack.

Good job getting the rep on your list Maybe you guys can exchange Christmas gifts too!!!

You have got to be kidding me! I'm a Miller man myself but come on.

The reason Lite and Bud light are so popular is because they don't taste like anything. The taste of the masses is no taste. It's vanilla. Try some Moose nuts:0, Or ? Broaden your horizons my boy, try a real beer, it won't hurt. Start slow, try a Bodingtons, or a Summer ale or a Yeungling or any of the other hundreds of beers that have been mentioned in this post. The next time you are in a bar look at the draft offerings and try a different one each day. Yes you can get taste buds, one beer at a time. Stay thirsty my friends.

Who doesn't enjoy something new or extravagant every once in a while??? I'm just sayin' for my money, Miller Lite is the best....

BTW....you're a disgrace to Miller nation. You are no Miller man, son. Just a pretender. I've prolly tried a much wider variety of beer than you ever will so don't worry bout me friend. My taste buds have been fully developed for some time now.... Anyways, being from Chi-town, shouldn't you be an Old Style man???? Oh. One last thing. GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!

No, what you said was. "If it ain't Miller Lite, it's pi$$!!!!!!!

At Wrigley you get Old Style or Bud so yes it's Old Style.
I've been living the High life for 30 years. Way before it was trendy. BTW it's way better from the bottle than the can.

    • Hit my tee shot just into the penalty area and barely found it. Swung hard just in case I hit it. It was slightly downhill with a heavy tailwind. I don't actually hit my 9i 170 yards.
    • Right. The difference between being 120 out and 70 out for me (this is the important part) is negligible and not worth putting other risks into play off the tee.   Ok the argument against driver is that my shot cone is comically large. It puts every possible outcome into play. You can't see the green from the tee so there's a good chance I'd have to wait for it to clear which would slow down play. That's the third tee right in the middle of the firing range there. I really don't want to wait just to hit a terrible shot and I especially don't want to injure somebody. Yea I have no problem playing out of the rough short of the bunker if I'm just going to lay up short of the bunker, but I absolutely need to avoid flaring it right into the penalty area if I'm going to be laying up in the first place. As a general strategy I understand where you're coming from. But since we're specifically talking about me (this is a shot I'm going to have to hit on Saturday), I think the cost is fairly marginal. I hit the ball 8' closer on average from 50-100 than I do from 100-150 from the fairway and rough and the green success % difference is 4%. Bunker might as well be a penalty drop. Based on the data,  Here's my SG:A data compared to a 10: I honestly don't know how to use SG for decision making. That's why I was mostly looking at proximity to hole and green success rate for comparison. I mostly use SG as a way to track my progress. All good. Like I said, I appreciate the discussion. It makes me think. If I didn't want to see alternative/opposing viewpoints to my own I just wouldn't post anything. You should post it! In your own swing thread, of course. It's been a fun exercise.
    • Played my first 2024 round at Pierce Lake. Boomed my first drive down #10 fairway, then slowly slipped into mediocrity. 83 (69.6/131). The high point was going 2 of 4 on sand saves. My sand game is pretty marginal but today I must have discovered the secret for a couple hours.
