Anyone ever get fitted for irons at Golfsmith?

And if so, please tell me your experience, and how your doing with your irons now. I bought the ones in my sig off of ebay and they are not fitted to me. I actually have never been fitted before for irons, and am wondering if I should be going to Golfsmith to get this done. I wouldnt be buying new irons, just getting the lies bent if need be and lofts changed. (There is a store 10 minutes from me) or if I should be going somewhere else to get this done. Let me know. hi i got fitted for my r-7's at GS and had a great experience and am playing pretty good with them - my handicap has def gone down and continues to - but not sure how much that has to with the fitting - maybe though but I def. thought they were good and helpful

I got fitted at Golfsmith for my irons and driver. They use swing tape to find the appropriate lie angle and a launch monitor for shaft flex. Not the most technical fitting, but probably adequate for most players. If you want an in depth fitting you may want to look elsewhere.

I really think it depends on the salesperson. The GS here in Austin has some very inexperienced people working. I would look at other places if it was me. Getting fitted properly is important, you want someone that truly wants to help you enjoy the game, not just someone putting on an act to sell you on merch. later.

I got fitted at GS and the measurements told me that I could use standard lies and lenths. My swiing speed was enough for a stiff flex. Not the best fitting I have received, but was acurate. If I had wanted to wait for them I could have had custom clubs that were 1/4" longer. But I didn't need it.

but i did get a new driver shaft there..

Go on a day when theres no one there, spend some time hitting, then ask the guy some questions about shafts, (if thats hwa tyou looking for..)

I got the salesman to come over, look at my swing, and recomend me a shaft for free.

If your looking to just get lie/loft, id say golfsmith is adequete, if your looking for a total makeover, look at a performance institute.
