PING Fitting Length/Lie Specs Apply to Other Brands?

I was fitted a few years back and ended up getting 1/2" plus on shaft length and 2.0 degree upright lie angle.  Ended up buying some Ping G Series with AWS steel shafts at the time.  Recently I was thinking about trying some graphite shafted irons and found a good deal on some Mizuno JPX 923 that happen to be 1/2" plus for length and 2.0 upright lie angle.  Can I assume my PING fitting specs also apply to Mizuno or any other brand?  I know the answer is probably to go get fitted again but was just wondering.

One of the guys that does fitting would obviously be best person to respond here and I’d assume different the lie angle categories are not universal and that you should be refit. Others things to consider, has your swing changed over past few years since being fit? That may change your fitting.

You would have to do the following...

1. Pull the spec sheet for the base Ping (black dot) irons and the spec sheet for the other brand you are looking at.
2. Due the math on the adjustment that would give you a new spec from the Ping fitting. 
3. Compare the differences to the specs of the brand you want to check and get how those should be adjusted.

Note a proper fitting, hitting golf balls with a launch monitor, brings in more information like how the CG, and loft effect the ball flight. The online fitting is a decent place to get a starting point.

Thanks for the feedback, I will look into cross referencing the standard specs but will also look into setting up a full fitting.

They’ll at least be pretty close. But yeah I’d look at the spec charts.
