A blight on Competition Golf with HC.. bigger the prizes more sandbagging goes on ...sometimes I feel like if I don't sandbag somewhat your going in with a massive dis-advantage ...the best prized Comp I play in each year $5k+ top price(latest LED TV) each player is a local Courses classic two-day two-man team comp $80 entry last year the winners local father son team the son hadn't played for years we were told only recently starting playing again and had a 10 under NETT 62 after he played to par the first day!! he was a so called 22HC !!!! utter BS IMHO I think the next closest was 65 .. I played some of my best GOLF of the year NETT 71 + 70

Great argument for not playing in handicap events with big prizes.

Since this was a legit reason for not playing one or more holes, and if you guys got to the acceptable # of holes played. Then the rest of the scores are filled in per the USGA Handicap Rulebook. I couldn't find it, but I think they get par on a hole they do not get a stroke, and if they get a stroke, it should be the par + strokes on the hole (per handicap).

Fyi. New this year,  if 10 to 17 holes were played, you are supposed to post hole- by-hole the holes played. Then software will compute the Score Differential for the holes played plus an "expected Score Differential" for the holes not played to produce an 18-hole Score Differential.

See details here: https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/handicapping/world-handicap-system/2024-revision/10-17-hole-scores-FAQs.html

    • Day 231: busy day so just a bit of slow swings, working on lower body stuff in the downswing.
    • Day 44 (7 Mar 25) - It’s Friday, so it was the weekly round I play with the men’s group.  Solid day scoring wise for me - 42 front/ 41 back for an 83.  Of the 8 pars - 6 were up and downs (yeah buddy, those short game drills are paying off).  Best hole of the day was #13, a pretty straight up par 5.  Third shot was a 90 yarder - I played the INDI 50° to less than 2’ for a kick in birdie.  Its siblings were on as well - it was a short game kind of day.  It was not all good stuff with 3 dbl bogies….missed opportunities hurt the score still a great day to make the most of nGIR (thanks Erik for the teaching on this in Lowest Score Wins).
    • Day 158 - 2025-03-07 Edited a podcast, submitted my PGA award "stuff," and… got some wedge work in. Long day tomorrow so it's going to be tough.
    • There was also a partial tear of my rotator cuff. I see what you mean and no my hips and torso have nothing to do with my bicep.
    • Indeed. It is. RIP to them both. All-time scene here from Unforgiven:   "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it."
