755 vs Ap2's ?

May have been posted before. But after realizing as a 16 year old I can't afford plus can't wait to save up for the Ap2's the 755's caught my eye. So now I've narrowed it down to the 755's or the i10's.

Looked them up on ebay and Can buy them immediatly. I know I have to try them yet, but I'm wondering if they have the same feel and the same kind of technology as the Ap2's. Do you think I would be able to hit them just the same? Are the 755's a good club?

1) What are the similiarities in the Ap2's and 755's

2) What would you rather get, the i10's or the 755's?

Ah, i was in the same boat as you not long ago.

I ended with the 775, but i really hate the long irons, so i will soon be in the same boat again

The 755 are amazing when well struck, but they have a different feel on toe hits, its not harsh, but its defiently different...

The i 10 i havent hit, but they look nice..i just never liked the way pings metal looks, i think they look cheaper, (even tho they are sweet sticks) but thats just a little thing for me.

Another option you should defiently look at are the mp60,a nd the r7TP.

Hmm, the Mizuno 60's are not out of my pricerange neither are the R7's, but I've never been fond of either of the brands. Ill give the Mizuno's a try though! Thanks.

This is just one golfers opinion so take it for what it's worth:

As a life-long Ping player I ended going to the dark side up buying the 755s last year. This is the first full season since 94 that I'm playing some "other" brand. I can comment on both clubs.

The biggest difference that I noticed was the ball flight. The i10's had a much more penetrating, low flight then the 755's.
Both have minimal offset.
Both have fairly thin top lines (not too thin).
Both are forgiving but the miss hits were not completely muted.

I liked both clubs but it boiled down to aesthetics and ball flight. The i10's just seemed to knock the ball down too much and the 755 were more appealing to me. Sorry, can't comment on the Mizuno's or R7's.

The AP2's are sweet! I have not tried the 755's, but I was in the same boat with the cost of the AP2's and ended up getting the 735.CM. They are very nice clubs!!! I thought that my mishits would be dramatic differences since they are progressive blades, but it has really not been as bad as I thought. I was previously playing the 690.CB and do not find much of a difference on the mishits. I hate to throw another club into an already difficult decision, but they are definitely worth hitting. The AP2's are very nice clubs. I think the clubheads work well with the rifle shafts they have choosen for it. It seems they have good synergy together. But the 755's are not bad clubs, either.

Thanks everyone. I will give the 755's a try and go back and try the i10's again. I think the i10's would be nice because I have a really high ball flight which I sometimes dont like. I can hit my 4 iron really far but can usually go as high as a 6 iron does.

755s are nice classic titleist clubs and ap1s are a bit more forgiving

the 755's need to be well struck to hit them far.
Any sort of off center hit, take off 10 yards right away.
Depends on how you hit your irons.

as far as technology goes are this clubs still really good and modern? I don't want to buy these to have realized they are nowhere near newer clubs and are the exact same as my old ones.

Ah, the 755 are still good clubs..but if you miss the little chip thing..you lose distance. I have a demo club, and when i miss it, it gives you enough feedback that you can still get shots back on line,albeit a few yards short. I would if you want, sell you a demo 6 iron, wouldnt be to much money, that is if you are seriosu about trying it out.

They are plenty modern... but as others have pointed out, probably not as forgiving. Technology for players type irons hasn't changed a whole lot, the biggest changes are the Project X shafts and the Black Golds. If you are a good ballstriker and usually find the center or near center of the iron, then the 755's are great. If you hit the toe a lot, or just want a little added forgiveness, then go with the AP2's. Go hit the clubs and "feel" the difference if you can. The Ap2's definately have some newer technology in them with the whole dual cavity thing. Also, I don't know how much feedback the AP2's give, but generally the more forgiving a club is the less you can "feel" how you struck your shot. Some people like to feel a bad shot more than others. Certainly the AP2's will still offer some feel, as to how much, I cannot say as I have not hit them.

I generally hit the toe, and When i posted in another thread I stated I wasn't looking for much forgivness, I'm getting the opinion that these are nearing towards players irons?

They're still great clubs.
You don't have to hit them directly on the face every time.
I exaggerated
There's enough forgiveness for average players to use them.
It's just, if you hit them terribly, you hit a terrible shot.

Try out the Mizunos, you will not get better feeling clubs, either the MP-60's or MP-67's which are "bladeier" but not much less forgiving.

I'm sorry, but as someone who has the AP2s and the MP-67s, I've got to disagree strongly with the above statement. Someone doesn't go from thinking a 755 or an AP2 is good for their game to being totally happy with the MP-67. They're not in the same league as either of the other two in terms of forgiveness. The gap between the AP2 and the MP-67 in terms of feel is much smaller than the gap between them in forgiveness.

ok your opinion, but i have 60's my friend has 67's and my dad has AP2's, i cant really tell the difference between the 60-67's but (ball striking is the best part of my game) and i prefer the look of the mizunos to the titleists.
