Anyone got this combo? If so how good is it? Im thinking about changing shafts from the stock regular to a stiff shaft ( the stock one just doesnt feel right )

not a hi bore, but heres my little story.

Had a stock Superquad, averaged anywhere from 235-250. It had the stock re ax shaft.

Went and got fitted, realized i needed a stiff shaft, and really like the V2. threw it in there, and am now averaging 250-280. For me, the v2 feels like you gotta work a little harder to get the ball straight, at least for me, and i really like that about it. Neat thing is, im actually swinging slower, (prior was 100 SS, now im around 90) but somehow i am hitting it farther..

You really cant go wrong iwth the V2, and hopefully if Erik decides to sell me his 585, i will have a V2 in my driver, hybrid, and woods.

Great shaft.

Have a buddy that's gaming a Hibore with a V2 76g, he smokes it, but he's also on the south side of 5 as far as handicaps go so he'd probably smoke it with a hickory shaft too :)

that would be because its a 15 year old. when your young you tend to exagerate your distance some.

I dont belive the point of thsi thread is to say that im wrong (since im not) Theres no need to flame someone over something you really cant know. So please stick to the topic. The V2 is a wonderful shaft, If you like the way it feels..It is different from some others, but you can reap the beinifits.

I use a HiBoreXL with a Diamana Whiteboard stiff D63. I switched out from a Graphite Design YS6 stiff. I LOVE the combo.
Controllable ball flight...easy to work the ball... predictable... long & straight when you want.... and the kickpoint just suits my swing..the tip is stiffer so you can go all out when you wanna crank an extra 10 - 20 out on the drive. i'm out consistently in the 260 - 280's. longest drive so far this season wtih the combo that's about 2 weeks old is 295. I was getting more distance out of the ys 6, but i hate a wider spray with it. try it....it's awesome.

I have a 65g V2 in my hibore 8.5 and I love it. I tried the same combo in a hibore 3 wood and didn't like it at all however. I swing really hard with my driver and not so much with my 3 wood though. My advice would be to not get this shaft unless you swing pretty hard.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
