I'm new to golf and using my dad's old set of clubs. He had them for as long as I can remember, and I'm 30. The irons are Wilsons, but I just pulled out the putter for the first time today. This thing looks ancient! Can anyone identify it?

Geez that is old. What does it say on there?
Looks like a very very soft metal.
"When I play with him, he talks to me on every green. He turns to me and says, 'You're away.' "

I'm not sure what it says - Otey Grisman maybe? I thought it was strange to have a wooden shaft as well. No telling if it is original. My dad could have put the wooden shaft on it as a joke, he was that kind of guy.

    • Attempting to lift. Any better?
    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
