Do you ever look at the wear marks on your club soles?

I was looking at my irons carefully yesterday when giving the grooves and cavities a much needed scrubbing off.

I've had these clubs since they first came out and have really loved them. I suspect that the reason is mainly because they fit me better (dimensionally) than any set I've had.

The wear marks tell the tale, I suppose.



I'll always take the time to get fit well in the future with any new clubs.

those look like some pretty square scratches on the sole - not like mine! Do you hit the ball straight?

I tend to cut across the ball - when the markings are square I usually hit sweeping hooks. Somewhere in between would be fine :)

Sometimes straight...with a little fade tailing off at the end.

Sometimes just plain ugly....like this afternoon!!!!

Man those are rough, even my irons aren't that bad. Are some of them actually big gouges (sp?) also?

Just on the leading edge. Some of the course I've played have little rocks in the soil....or maybe it's just the bad places I find myself around the course....

Bunkers are the biggest killer, just played at a course where you could see all kinds of rocks in the sand. Where do they get this stuff from? Its awful!

You might want to invest in a "desert club." My brother plays a lot out west where all the courses have rock, etc. This might save some of your normal clubs.
