All out on new sticks

So ive been saving money for awhile now for a complete set of new clubs. This time around I wanna go all out. New irons, drivers, shafts etc.

Im just trying to figure out the best way to do this. I want to get fitted for everything. Length, lie, swing weight, shaft stiffness etc. I want to get the irons pured. Will my local store take the time to do all this? How long does something like this take?

You should be able to find a local fitter. He can do all of this and more. He/she can actually customize each iron to how you want to play. Bend wedges back, make irons weaker/stronger, customize and pure your shafts, grips, etc. The best part is he can make the changes during the fitting so you can see the results. I don't know anyone who's gone to a retailer and had them change the loft, lie and shafts on a club during the fitting. I can't stress how advantageous this is.

One thing you might want to focus on. When he/she customizes your driver, make sure that the CPM of the driver shaft is set to optimal playability. Lets say the CPM reading is 260 and you're getting a 12* Launch, 2800 Spin Rate, etc., have him/her lock that number on the shaft. They can do this for your irons, too.

Your fitter should be doing this work on the premises. It should not take much longer than three business days.

If you go to a local retailer, find out where the work is being done.

You really owe it to yourself to get fitted.....especially if you have a consitent swing to fit. New sticks are quite a commitment. A good fitting will ensure that you enjoy your hard earned money at work.

Getting fitted is why I went with a local shop as opposed to online/ebay. They are changing the shaft angle, grips and lengthening the shafts. To have this done after the fact would have significantly boosted the price of less expensive clubs. My thought was that if I was going to get an all new set, I wanted them to be exactly right for me.

Going with the local folks can also buy you much better after sales service. If they need to be fine tuned, that's a piece of cake as well.

My local dealer has been great. I'll pay something extra for good service any day. Sometimes cheaper ain't always better.
