A couple friends and I are doing a North Dakota golf trip this summer(yes you read that right, North Dakota).

HawkTree http://www.hawktree.com/

Bully Pulpit http://www.medora.com/attractions/golf/index.html

The Links of ND(Red Mike) http://www.thelinksofnorthdakota.com...blic/index.php

All of them are rated very well, I think especially Hawktree, and it costs $150 for all three rounds combined which is dirt cheap for great golf. Plus we are doing some camping since Bully Pulpit is in the badlands.

Overall just wondering if anyone on the site has hit up any of those courses, or heard much about them?

In my Hoofer:

Driver: Big Bertha Warbird 9*

Irons: Eye2 BeCu 2-PWWedges: 56 & 60 RTG 588Putter: Sedona

just got back from playing Bully pulpit. Make sure and buy some of the gnat spray they sell at the counter, bring lots of balls and a camera. The back 9 is great! 15 when the wind is blowing is a test.
Haven't played Hawktree but have heard from a very good golfer that it is outstanding.

Looking into the same trip later this summer.

I've played Hawktree which is very solid and I've heard nothing but good things about Bully Pulpit, but I'm looking forward to Links of North Dakota most. I've heard really really good things about the Links.

As advised by the above poster, bring bug spray (bugs are everywhere in ND) and lots of balls to Bully Pulpit and Hawktree (prairie grass rough).

    • Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

    • Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.
    • I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
