10.5* Vs. 9*?

im demoing a new R7 460cc driver which is 9* just got tonight so taking for a spin tomorrow, im used to having a 10.5* driver, my ball flight is naturally high. Im thinking a 9* driver might actually be better because it will give me more distance, and with my naturally high ball flight ill still get good height. Any thoughts?

It's a pretty big difference, yet it's not that much harder to hit. I went from a 13.5 driver to a 10.5 and I have not sacrificed any control. My last 36 holes I've only missed 3 fairways.

ABSOLUTELY try the 9*!! I also have a high trajectory shot with basically every club. I recently picked up a Nickent 3DX 9* driver and gained about 10 to 15 yards when I hit it well vs. the well-hit shots with my Adams Redline RPM.

I still have an 8* Adams that I break out on really windy days or during the summer hardpan days when the ball will roll 50 yards after it hits the ground!

Go for it! I have a friend who made the switch and he added 15 yards to his drives, and still hits most in the fairway.

      It probably wouldn't matter if he stood on one foot — if he was still for a second, the water would likely recede and not be visible.

      The rules can t cover every possible situation, this one is reasonably clear.  How would you rewrite it to fairly cover the situation you ask, and would it be better or more consistently understood? I think the announcers saw spray from the practice swings, and ASSUMED that there must be standing water there.  But wet turf will produce spray.  And of course Faxon was a tour player, so he views it from a players standpoint.  But players often don't understand the rules really well.  Its a shame they didn't get an actual rules expert at that moment, we know the USGA had people available.

      Fair enough. By wiggly I just mean the bit about stepping hard or the like doesn't count. Like, what if the player says they plan on playing the lie with massive weight on the front foot and ball back in the stance to try ensure no bounce interaction to prevent the club getting sucked into the soggy turf before the ball, and it's only with ~80% of weight on the front foot that you can see water? But I was more wondering what the announcers were complaining about?

      Day 5 - extremely long range practice session. Probably one of my best practice sessions ever. Doing things in slow motion is like 5x'ing the effectiveness of the practice. Also, I need these same "falling into lead leg" feels on my wedges. And guess what? Practicing this feel on shorter wedges is ALSO EASIER AND MORE EFFECTIVE. Combining much slower than full speed practice with shorter (50-90 yard) shot practice was really good. Change the picture on these shorter shots first. Feel like I'm keeping my arms as straight as possible on the backswing while hinging my wrists earlier is an incredible feel. I feel like this is doing stuff to my sequencing somehow? Much less rushed at the top because hinging was done at a reasonable time? One note someone made on my swing thread before I went on a hiatus was regarding this so I played around with it.  Clubs that don't require as much weight/pressure shift feel fantastic (driver/3-wood/hybrid), but that's almost always been the case.
