Although Tiger has set some excellent records he has never held all four majors concurrently in the same year- that is a fact. That is one record that Jack has and i don't think that this will ever be broken in my lifetime. I know that Tiger has held all four majors but not in the same year, and for this reason Jack is the superior player and golfing athlete/tactician, as to hold all four in the same season is illustrative of a man on top of his game .

What do you think?

Jack never won all four majors in the same year-the only person to pull of the Grand Slam was Bobby Jones (when The US and British Amateurs were majors)-Tiger has held all four major titles at once which is as close as anyone has come

The obvious part has already been addressed, but to call Jack a superior athlete is almost as silly. Tiger is one of the best conditioned athletes in all of sports. Tiger has done everything that Jack has to the same point in his career. Most things Tiger did earlier and more frequently.

That's an awfully silly way to determine who the better golfer is. As I'm sure you already know, Tiger has held all 4 majors... just because they were not in the same calendar year does not diminish this accomplishment.

I think you already knew this, and just want to post something for reaction. Jack may be the better golfer, but don't use the "grand slam" argument to support your opinion.

I respect Tiger but i don't think he will surpass Jack's major haul and i dont think he will ever hold all four majors in the same year. We have to look at Jack's second place record as well..awesome.

There is a reason that it has never been done. It is incredibly hard to win 4 events in a year, much less the four toughest events. Furthermore, they each require different skills and specialties. For him to hold them all at once already trumps most of what Jack did in any single stretch of his career. He should and likely will get the career mark. I still see him getting at least one more this year if not two.

Who cares? Again, Jack didn't either, and he didn't even hold them all at once like Tiger did. Nobody's won all four pro majors in the same year, and only Tiger's done it within 365 days.

We have to look at Jack's second place record as well..awesome.

Who cares about the 19 second-place finishes? Jack doesn't even like talking about that number because it represents that many more majors he could have won, but didn't.

This sport, like every other, is about WINNING. If Jack had finished second 50 times and yet never won a major, he might not even get the recognition two-time major winners get. In Tiger's words, "second sucks."
