Golf Trip - Santee, SC --> Pros/Cons?

I've never played at Santee, SC and know virtually nothing about it.

Informally I get the idea prices are fairly low for lodging, greens fees & replays and other than golf there is nothing around Santee. That's about all I've heard.

I'm looking for opinions about the courses, hotels/condos, restaurants, ease of making hotel/condo/restaurant reservations & tee times and anything else that should be important to me in deciding whether to go there for a golf trip -- four guys & three days of golfing.

Opinions, pro or con will be valuable info for me!

I know very little about Santee, but I do know I like a restaurant called Clarks. I usually eat there when driving to Hilton Head.

      Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

      Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.

      I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
