Alright I'm probably opening a can of worms here but I used to be a really big fan of eBay but lately I'm losing my interest in the site. From sellers charging fees they're not allowed to per eBay, PayPal or BidPay policies to people misrepresenting their items intentionally (I can forgive ignorance)

Am I the only one?

I've always hated eBay. I've used it from time to time, but that hasn't meant that I've liked it.

Don't get me wrong, I will continue to use eBay for some things and I have had more good luck/purchases than bad. This was just a bad week there.

Here are a few to start. 1. I recently bought a club and the seller and they wanted to charge me extra for the PayPal fees that the seller has to pay when accepting PayPal, which is completely against PayPal policy. I didn't end up paying the extra fees but the seller left bad feedback for me for not paying the fees!! That's just rude, if you are selling an item and don't want to pay these fees then don't accept PayPal, in fact don't use eBay cause then you're charged for the insertion and final value fees. 2. People who list counterfit items should be banned! They clutter up the site and I am firmly against people intentionally infriging on trademarked goods 3. People who intentionally misrepresent their goods, like saying an item is "Tour", "Special Edition", etc when it's just the plain jane product.

Than I very much agree with you, I have not come across people charging fees to use Pay Pal, but I have notice the price of shipping seems to be riseing, maybe a way to get more money out of people.

I'm using eBay since 1999 and never had bad experience. My approach is - I'm not "forced" to by from X, so if there is anything in the listing that I don't like - I don't bid, no matter how good the price is (most of the time the saying is true : "if it looks too good to be true - it probably isn't" ). Now and then you'll always find a jerk, it's up to you to avoid it. As far the "tour issue" comment - there are easy way to recognize tour equipment most of the time by the serial number (or lack of it). Study the description, ask questions and avoid purchases when in doubt - you won't go wrong. I saved tons of money on eBay and I intend to continue that trend

wow, that's crazy the seller would ask you to pay those PayPal fees, which I am very well aware of. He should've just incorporated it into his shipping. Yeah, I've never had that problem and I can honestly say all my experiences both buying and selling have been great..knock on wood.
