I usually get smacked in the face by a Titleist Pro V1 flying at high speeds towards me.

Not really. I usually golf pretty late, no "FORE!!!" calls for me yet.

I usually just duck down and try to look for the ball, or hide under my golf bag.

When I know a golf ball isn't going to hit someone, I don't yell anything. The last thing I want to do is yell "fore" and have them change where they're going to run into the golf ball. If it's gonna miss them, I let it. They might get a scare from the sound of a ball hitting 10 yards away, but that's better than having them run into it.

Iacas... this makes sense, but don't you think the people that are 10 yards away from it when it lands will freak out because at my course if someone hits remotely close to someone and doesn't call fore chances are they will bug out.

I had one guy freak out at me once when I didn't yell "fore" a shot I pulled (our 18th tee is back and left alongside the 17th fairway). I said "it was gonna miss you, so I didn't want you to run into it by me yelling 'fore'."

He calmed down and made a joke about the "scare" he got, and that was that.

I don't know.
I haven't heard it in a long time.
People where I play have little to no clue.

At least he was a good sport about your approach to it. Some people in the tee box next hole to us hit a ball close to us in the fairway and forgot to call fore, and we ended up joking around about it and later one person from our group hit one towards them when they were on the 18th tee.

I'm the idiot that looks up to see if I can see where the ball is going.

Luckily for me anytime I hear it yelled the balls is not within 20 yards of us. No one has ever screamed when the ball was close.

I just put my hands over my head and change the direction i think it's coming from. I rather get hit in the back then in the face...I was told a story by some guy I got randomly paired up with it, how this guy was in a club championship and a ball hit him right in the MOUTH and he CARRIED HIS TEETH to with him the last 3 holes and finished out and won lol.

I pull from the bag my cut down 40" old Burner Bubble driver out of the bag and hit it back before it hits the ground , sort of like the trick shot artist "The Hitman", not as good as him yet, but getting there.

If I am too far from my bag I just duck and cover the melon though.

Hope that they are yelling towards someone else!

Fortunately at my home course the holes are spread out and there never is any 'fore!', but at a nearby local muni, you are taking your life in your hands and the holes are just set up to get hit, very dangerous and I won't play there.

I play a local muni. Balls rarely hit ANY target, much less the intended ones. If a golfer hits one and gives the "FORE!", it's because he thinks its going to hit someone. Few golfers on my course have their shots land where the golfer believed it was going to land immediately after he struck it.

    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
