hi - I have a 9.5 2007 tayloremade Burner. I love the club but I launch the ball really high. it has the standard re-ax fuji shaft in a reg flex. I am wondering if anyone here has re- shafted this driver and if so what shaft they put in. I was thinking about a aldilla green NV shaft in a reg flex. I hit 9 fairways today so I am not loosing the ball - maybe just losing a little distance - anyone re shafted this baby with good results?? Its advertised as a light driver with a longer shaft so i dont want to screw up it up - just improve it

I really like the stiff version of yours - which I have in 50g in my Burner. I have a high launch angle/spin rate and ball flight and this shaft keeps the ball on a more penetrating trajectory than my R7425 did.

However, seeing as how you are replacing the RE-AX shaft, you might want something a little more up-market. The Aldila NV is a great shaft, there are other good shafts - try out your friends clubs and get a feel for other shafts.

I myself now also use a Burner. My shaft is the stiff shaft of the RE-AX shaft. I myself launch ball quite high too, switch my taylormade tp red which advertise to promote lower ball flight and wa la, i got my prefer ballflight. Not quite sure is right or wrong but so far the result isn't bad.

how's your distance? are you happy with it? How's your spray? do you tend to spray the ball? If you're spraying, then you know the stiffer shaft would help.
to get a lower trajectory ball, go with a shaft that has a mid-high or even straight high kick point. It'll help keep the ball on a lower flight path.

For the burner, i'd go with a Graffaloy Epic shaft, GD YS+7 (but both have medium tips so that might be a little soft).
I live by the Diamana White Board. I've been thru 4 shafts in my driver in the past year, and the white board will be there forever. It's the best shaft that I've used that provides consistent trajectory..even on mishits, i'm about 90% out and 10% to the right.....try it..it's pretty damn awesome.

hey thanks - i dont really spray the ball to bad - i mean its controlled- BUT if I really go after a ball it hook draws way too bad. Do you have of those used shafts you might wanna sell??
also - there isnt any reason why cant change a shaft in a burner right??

no reason why not - something to watch out for though is the swingweight of the club. It will change if you use a different shaft (Burner shafts are 46 inches, longer than normal) and also the Burner grip was designed to be very light.
