hi looking for a new shaft to put in my Burner. My swing calls for in between a reg and stiff shaft. the stock shaft is the Fuji Tayloremade re-ax super fast 50 gram reg flex shaft and it seems pretty whippy for me. i swing around 90-95 mph. I found a brand new Alidilla NV green shaft reg. flex on ebay froma reputable dealer and bid on it and won - i got it for a really good price so i figure what the heck. I know I should get fit properly and plan on it eventually but money is a little tight right now. anyway - my question is- I am searching for a lower ball flight - anyone use this shaft and can offer insight into whether or not its worth putting in my Burner. also - worth getting pured or just have her thrown in??

In my bag:
Titleist 910D2 w/Diamana Kaali'Stiff
Titleist 910F w/ Diamana Kaali' Stiff
Titleist 910F Hybrid 19 degree w/ Diamana Kaali' Stiff

If your looking for a low ball flight...then you bought the right shaft. It is one of the lowest I've hit. I liked it a lot (especially on dry, hard fairways). As far as getting it pured, personally I couldn't tell you whether or not it's worth the extra $$ you spend to have it done. I have hit a pured shaft, but not a pured and non-pure shaft of the same brand, so I can't help you out there.

The NV will give you a low flight, had it on my old driver, too low for me though ( and too stiff, stiff flex plays more like a xflex, so good choice on getting the regular, it'll probably play closer to a stiff than most reg. flex shafts)

glad to hear that about the flex. I read a lot reviews stating that the regular ones are whippy so i was initially bummed about the purccahse but then again reviews can really differ. I was hoping that the shafts play slightly more stiff then stated... anyone else confirm this for me?? thanks for the comments

I've got the same swing speed as yours. How heavy the Aldila NV? If you're looking for low ball flight, go for UST Proforce V2.

I would suggest just putting it in there. i do not see the point in spending more $$$ getting it tuned/pured.

definately a shaft for keeping it low!! great choice!

I put an NV85 in my Sonartec 3 wood, I also had an NV65 in a HiBore driver a while back. I love the 85, but I had that one pured. I hated the 65, guess what, didn't have it pured. I would

strongly suggest getting that shaft pured, the NV65, while being a great shaft, was notorious for having inconsistencies related to manufacturing.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
