How much did you buy it for?

If you're looking to really improve your game around the green, sure...the Vokey's, to me, are the best out there.

I just went out and it was a tossup between the Vokey, CG12 and the Z TP Wedge. All 3 54*, talked to the guy and he said he would say the Taylormade was the best one because he's hit all 3. I hit the 3 and ranked them like this:

1) Taylormade
2) Titleist
3) Cleveland - Did not like at all!

The Employee there ranked them the same. You made a wise choice as well. Its worth the money.

Vokey SM are going for 109 around here, you did good on the price. I have been swinging (and trying to talk myself into buying a couple) them myself a bit at the store. I like the look and feel a touch better than the CG's seem to be. I had heard that the CG's are a touch longer than others though....

I guess it again boils down to 'Personal Preference'.

I personally swear by the Vokeys, as they work best for me and im very happy with the way they suit my game.

as you can tell from this forum, many people swear by Clevelands and T'Mades!

The club in itself is well worth the money, Its the most finley crafted wedge you can buy IMO. But the after effects of the SM version (like all the balls that thing is going to shread on full swings) makes it sorta not worth it in the end. I used to use a SM 56/10 and switched out for a 200 series after about 2 months.

I bought a spin milled 54 a couple months ago. It has made a huge difference in my short game. Well worth the money. I'm actually thinking about getting either a 58 or a 60.

I wouldn't worry - if your wedges are working fine for you - go with it. Now if you are like me and golfing a crap set of wedges (the Israelis and Iranians get along better than I do with my SW) and are looking to get a good set - the talk about Vokeys have me looking but mostly because I am looking to turn my current SW into a tomato stake.

Thats the thing, I haven't tried mine yet, I just got it yesterday. but heard it spins more than the Vokey.

See, that's a hard thing - unless you hit them back to back, exactly the same on the same style of ball, how does a guy know?

It would almost have to be robotic. And if some scientific test was done and wedge a spins x amount and wedge b sipns y amount, what does that mean exactly to you the golfer? How many RPM's before you actually notice an "on the green" difference? I have invoked a new mental rule since last weekend. "Don't Mickelson yourself" - that is don't think - play.

Your right, I can't wire it down right the last spec. The T Made felt better, I went with it.

Its more of a one or the other situation after you've tried both, and if you made the wrong choice, its not really your fault, how can you tell the difference of spin at the store.

    • Still working on getting to lead side. Tonight I also tried some skill work with clubface awareness.  Hit foam balls.
    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
