Does this pose a problem for the future? (grip issue)

While I have no doubt become a much better golfer in the recent months/year...I have begun to notice a couple things that seem odd to me. The one issue in particular has to do with my grip, specifically my right hand. When I take my grip, and throughout the swing (to the best of my knowledge) I barely grip the club with my right ring and middle fingers. And by barely I mean basically not at all. I use an interlocking grip if that makes a difference. I just want to make sure this won't cause problems such as gripping too tightly with my left hand/fingers. Does anyone out there do this? Any insight?

I don't understand what you mean, do you grip the club in the palm of your hand or do you just grip the club very very loosely.

I don't grip the club in the palm of my hand...the grip lays in my fingers. However, I just don't really grip the club at all with those fingers on my right hand. I do grip with my right pinky...along with all the fingers on my left hand...but that's about it.

I

Sounds pretty weird to me. Although it may turn out to be the best grip ever, more likely it is putting a damper on your game. You could try to go with it and hope things work out for the best, but you'll be in no-man's land. It also might be causing you to change your entire swing to compensate for it.

Crazy grips are not unheard of (there's some good players that even play cross-handed), but if you ask anyone for advice they are going to tell you to learn a more conventional grip. That means using the ring and middle fingers of the right hand to help control the club. I copy the grip as described by Hogan in his "Five Lessons" book. He does a great job of detailing the Vardon grip.
