I currently have a Nike Sasquatch with a Regular Shaft. I swing around 95-100 MPH. I found the specs of a Proforce V2 and most of it matches the specs of my sasquatch, although some don't. I still can't decide between the Proforce and the Prolaunch Red.

Here are the specs for the Proforce:

Model: 6060S
Flex: Stiff
Weight: 66g
Torque: 3.0
Launch: Mid
Butt OD: .600
Butt Stiffness: 267
Length: 46"
Mid Stiffness: 7.0
Tip Stiffness: 28
Tip Parallel: 4
Tip Diameter: .335

And Now my Sasquatch:

Length: 45"
Weight: 60g
Tip Diameter: .335
Butt Diameter: .600
Parallel Tip: 2.5"
Torque: 4.4

Given these specs, will anything prevent me from putting that shaft into my driver? Also are there any other good shafts with Mid-Low launch?

the pro launch red is a good shaft and you might check out the pro launch platinum it is also a really good shaft for a lower ball flight

What are you looking to accomplish with the change (i.e. what don't you like about the stock shaft)? Are you looking for more control? Keep the ballflight down? Is there a place where you can get a "shaft fitting" on a launch monitor? Places around here will do it for $30-50 and then apply that towards the purchase of an installed shaft, so it is kinda free unless you are going to do the work yourself.

Im looking for a bit lower ball flight, and more control. I feel my shaft is too whippy and I will easily slice If I swing my normal speed. Right now im swinging around 80-85 MPH to keep from slicing. And yes, I can also get fitted on a launch monitor as well.

Yeah you can get more control by stiffining up your flex.

I'm not sure which you should go with. It's a tough choice...maybe talk to the guys at golfsmith or whatever is in your arera, they may recommend something.

Is there anything from Aldila as well? I am really leaning towards the Proforce. How can I really test a Shaft when its in a different driver? What should I be looking for in terms of feel in the shaft and not the club?

any of the aftermarket shafts will normally play relatively stiffer than the stock shafts.

the torque is a 3, so that's a lot stiffer than a shaft that has a torque of 4. i'd say if you want mid trajectory: go with a shaft that has mid-high kickpoint. your torque is cool from 2.8 - 3.5 tip should be stiff if you wanna keep it low when you try to really go after the ball if you have the money, check out the Diamana Blueboard series in 63 weight but you're a growing boy, so i'd even say go with a 73 gram joint. Graphite Design makes the quad series which is supposed to be awesome. graffaloy has the epic series...or the pro series which is AWESOME...but I can't control that pro series.

I've Seen the blueboard but aren't those in the $200-$300 range? I'm going to get one off ebay, Seen the Proforce there for about 68 bucks. I'm sure it should be just fine if It produces a mid-low launch and is alot stiffer?

What makes people not like the shaft, I have no clue how they can tell that kind of difference in terms of feel from one shaft to another.

yeah...the diamana line is 1 of the more expensive shafts in the game.... my dad uses a proforce & i've hit it..i just wasn't crazy with the shaft in general..the stiff didn't feel stiff enough too me..and the x-stiff was a little too stiff...i play around a lot with drivers and different shafts...

1 of my boys works at Golfsmith & another is the equipment dude at my local range. so i get to test sh** with them just tooling around. out of all the shafts I've used...graphite design's YS7 has been awesome... the diamana whiteboard is what i'm using now and it's amazing. the proforce shafts are good too.

I'm thinking the Red would work better for you, maybe go with a tipped R flex. I've found stepping from a stock R to an aftermarket S is sometimes too big a jump for me. My SS is 103ish. When I first started messing with shafts I pulled the stock R out and put in a RP Saber Tour Vector Low S flex. Holy cow that thing was way too stiff for me. Now I play a stock S flex in just about everything, which tends to be more like a firm.

the torque is a 3, so that's a lot stiffer than a shaft that has a torque of 4.

Torque != stiffness.

And a lot of PGA Tour pros play shafts that have a bit more torque than you'd believe - they like the softer feel.

Don't fall for numbers, but instead go ahead try it in person. On paper, UST Proforce 65Reg has 3.0 torque and Diamana Blueboard Flowerband Ion S63 Reg has 3.6 of torque. I have the Proforce installed on my driver and I tried my friend's Blueboard, the result? High slice. The Blueboard felt boardier although it launches the ball way higher than my Proforce. Yes I knew it's $300 shaft, and I wanted it to work. Perhaps the driver head? Nope, my friend was also using the same SuperQuad 10.5 deg. With Proforce, I have more tighter dispersion of going straight, medium trajectory and rarely slice. Good thing the shaft that works for me costs only around 1/3 of Diamana.

What I'm trying to say is, you need to test them outdoor. Don't mind if it's different driver head. When you hit the ball with certain shafts, note how the ball goes. That's giving you a big picture of how the ball at least going to be when fitted with your driver's head.

Torque != stiffness.

I'm currently looking to replace my TM R7 3 wood shaft from a UST V2 Stiff with the following specs:

torque 2.9 SW 67grams with the Grafalloy pro launch platinum stiff torque 3.5 sw 66 grams. Will the shaft with the 3.5 torque play softer or stiffer?

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
