So over december i bought an odyssey white hot xg 2-ball putter, i was really pleased with it. Now not so much, i find that for short putts this thing does just not work for me. I tried the scotty cameron Red X2 and loved it, i really like the alignment aid. Problem is im 16 years old and im not sure i want to pay $300 for one, plus i live in Canada. Do you know anywhere that i could maybe trade or sell my white hot, so i can buy a used X2 thats in decent condition. How much would this cost me?

Thanks,

Ebay
Craig's List
The SandTrap

I have noticed thou....

No matter what SC putter a guy is selling it is always *Rare*......

Andrew

Haha they are rare, because they are so expensive. Im not sure about ebay, my dad had a real unforutunate event when he tried to buy some clubs off there last time. Id love to find one of Sandtrap but i haven't seen any threads.

Bah don't give up on the odyssey. I haven't hit a putter i liked more than any odyessy. Try one of the odyessy blade putters. http://www.golfsmith.com/products/OD1040

I may not be the best man to talk to about it, but either way you're getting a quality putter.(I LOVE odyessy, it was my first putter and it will be my last).

Well, I've always found the short shots hard with any putter mainly becuase of the pressure of "Oh yeah thats an easy shot". I wouldn't give up on the 2 ball just yet. Just practice some nice short shots and get a good little swing in it.

Go to this thread:
Scotty Camerons

and get in touch with the gentleman on there with the list of putters. He may want to trade or know of a way/place for you to upgrade.

BTW 1280 hits on ebay for SC. they aren't that rare - some individual ones are but I can't see all 1280 being rare!

Where in Canada do you live? I live in Calgary and I have a 33" Red X that I can part with. I love it, but I want to try a blade putter.

Is $150 in your price range?

If you'd like, a seller that I've bought from several times has a new one up for $150.

Scotty C's are certainly really nice...no doubt about it, but I wouldn't give up on the 2-ball just yet.

I find that on the short puts you mentioned....it's all about my left wrist. Maintaining a firm left wrist and aiming it along with the putter will drop those knee knocker putts consistently.

Good luck.

I would agree on ebay. You can usually find one that is fairly new or so slightly used that it looks new and not pay a fortune for it.

I have bought some clubs that were new in the box off of ebay and have not had a problem with it and not too high of a price.

Have you tried the Odyssey Sabertooth? I test drove one of those last week for about an hour and really liked it. I didn't want to like it because it looks so funky, but it just felt great. Long putts, short putts, whatever. I am really fighting the urge to get one of those.

Carl Spackler: This is a hybrid. This is a cross of Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff...

I like Odyseey i just find my 2-ball and its insert are starting to become annoying. I really liked the Red X, if you a bad stroke it will feel bad any the putt won't go where intended, but a good stroke makes everything seem perfect.

The Red X does feel great on a perfectly struck putt, the feel is priceless!

Haha yeah, i always think it will help teach me a better stroke, and not get by with my odyssey on a poor one. When i tried the Red X, i could really tell when the stroke was perfect.

    • Day 259: did mirror work while watching TV. Trying some wrist feels while trying not to lose the lower body stuff.
    • Day 3 (5 Apr 25) - long day with setup and rehearsal for band’s church service gig tomorrow.  Got home to hit a very chippy wedges (from about 10ft to out to 40yds or so).  Focus was simple - feel the bounce and quiet hands.
    • Day 187 - 2025-04-05 Got my time in today. Hoping to get a little more time in tomorrow, though. May get there early.

    • While on vacation in Punta Cana a few weeks ago I played with rental clubs, Mizuno Pro 245's with KBS Tour Lite steel shafts. Surprisingly, I was blown away, not only by the distance, trajectory and dispersion I was getting but also about how soft and buttery they felt. It got me thinking.... IT'S TIME FOR NEW IRONS! Just yesterday, at my local Golf Galaxy, I tested them again side by side with the JPX Forged (recommended by the Mizuno rep who happened to be there) which also felt pretty good. Not as buttery soft as the 245's but they did produce slightly better numbers on off-center hits. Also, I haven't played with forged clubs with steel shafts in 10 years thinking I was getting too old and that I needed the lighter weight but these clubs with that shaft felt really, really good. So that's my long and drawn-out intro to my question: Does anyone here at TST play with either of these clubs and if so, what's your opinion?
