So I was bored today (slow day at work) and decided to rummage through my previous posts and noticed I never introduced myself...Not sure how it happened but I'm glad I noticed - better late than never eh? Perhaps I got crossed up somehow? Perhaps the submit button crapped out on me that one time? I will never know.

Anyway, I guess this will serve as a belated hello and hope that you all accept my sincerest apologies for just jumping into the foray (seemingly).

My name is Peter and I was born and raised in NYC. I picked up my first golf club (reluctantly) at the tender age of 10 while visiting relatives in Connecticut. All I ever really did was pitch and putt with my cousin and uncle and never really got too serious with it (baseball is and always will be my first love). Nevertheless, it was then that I learned the basics on how to grip the club and swing the club (and putt too!). Once I got to high school, I kind of dropped it...but definitely kept my eye on that young phenom Tiger Woods. The first full tournament I watched on television was the 97 Masters (seriously)

Fast forward a bit to my early college days (Stony Brook represent!), and you'd probably see me at the driving range at best (maybe once a month or so). But still - never really took the game too seriously...

...until my latter years. My friend Matt would convince me to go to the driving range every once in a while and it was because of that - I slowly became intensely fond of the game of golf. I became the one nagging him to go to the driving range.

The really enjoyable part was realizing how far I could hit it compared to when I was 10. The really frustrating part was tweaking my swing so it would fit my new body type (re: bigger and taller obviously). In all - it's something I really enjoyed doing - I guess I saw it as a personal project that just snowballed into what it means to me today.

Sure - living in NYC definitely is not a golf-fanatic's paradise - but I fell in love with it anyway...and I fell HARD!

Where do you play? I'm a Yonkers / Bronx guy myself. Play mostly the Westchester public courses, some Vannie, some Split Rock and Pelham.

Whoa - judging from the courses you play, I wouldn't be surprised if we were paired in the past.

I played Sprain today and it kicked my ass.

Sigh.
