So, far I've been satisfied with nearly every club in the bag except the driver. It's put me in jail nearly every time I use it. I hit wicked slices and the times I didn't really slice, I hit it a mile high and get no roll-out. So, on the suggestion of my local Golf Galaxy, I had a Grafalloy Pro Launch Red put in it and I could not be happier.

I've also been putting in a ton of time at my local range. I've found that by slowing down my swing and using my shoulders more, I can pound the ball and make it go straight. I don't have to kill it.

So, I put all this to use tonight after work. I put in 9 holes at my home course and carded a 41. All my drives but one were arrow straight, my long irons were working and I putted well too. It was really nice to have an exceptional round. My typical rounds run around 95 (I'm carrying about a 26 HCP right now). I had one drive that ran about 285 yards on a par 5 and I had another on a 330 yard par 4 that ended up in the right rough but was even with the front edge of the green.

What an awesome feeling. I just had to share.

Good stuff. It's a great feeling when you practice and you see yourself getting better everytime you're out on the course. With a little help of some better equipment of course. :p

Awsome...A different club or even a shaft can do wonders if it is the wrong one or just not suited to your swing. I was using a driver for the past year that I had to try to hit straight way to hard. Got sick of it and got the new sumo2, the next day hit the range and got out on the course for 6 holes and was 1 under and that point! The driver was putting it out there!!!! and the new irons was sticking it close.

Driver - SQ SUMO2 9.5 stiff
3 Wood - SQ SUMO2 15* stiff
Hybrid SQ SUMO2 20* stiff
Irons - CCi steel stiff
Wedge - 56*Wedge - Knight 60*Putter - ITraxBall - platinum+Black but soon to be switching to pr0v1 SG 2.5

I've been working on slowing down my swing and not trying to kill the ball. The shoulder rotation really helps.

After reading some posts here about R7 Draw drivers, I decided to try to help correct my awful slice by closing my clubface a tiny tiny bit on address of the ball. That has helped me tremendously! Now I'm hitting many more straight than before. The driver has become a reliable club now. Although my absolute max is 275, with the average good drive doing about 225-250
