IT is time for a new driver! Just haven't been making the best out of my R7 460.
I believe it will be the Mizuno 560, but am going ot hit the Callaways today. Also, going to give the SUmo 5900 a try. I had the older SUmo2 and it was just ok for my game, but am open to trying the newer one.

My plan is to basically narrow it down to two today go back in a few days and make a final decsion. The $500 price tage of the FT- is scary but if it is the "one", I'll have to get it.

FWIW, I'm not a big hitter and am happy with 250 down the middle.

I love the FT-5 great club. If i could afford one new i would have it ina flash. However i don't like the FTI, i wouldn't personally reccomend it to anyone.
Even the FT-3 i think, isalso a good driver.
Why don't you look into the TM Burner and Superquad.
I've hit the Superquad and think it's a good club, slightly on the heavy side.

I tried a bunch, set up the launch monitor thingy. The Ft-i was pretty cool, but even the 8.5*, I was hitting too high I guess.
The Titelist driver was pretty darn good.
When we got back to the MIzuno 560, the guy even said, "guess you were right, that's the one!". To me it just feels solid, but I was easily 30 yards longer and straight.
The Ft-i (neutral) felt good and I would have tried a few more variations if it weren't for the price. I tried a 9.5, then a few 8.5's with different shafts.
The SUmo2 5900 was indeed better than the last model, I was hitting it very similar to the Ft-i. The Ft-i kept edging out to the toe for some reason and the 5900 was dead straight, just short for me.

So, unless I something else ctaches my eye, I'll likely snag one here soon.

Like I've said numerous times on this site before, I really hit a few drivers and liked the Ping G10 the best. I strongly advise people to give the G10 a chance.

Just came home with the MX 560. What a driver! Feels sooo solid!
I was about to snag the one I had tried previosuly with the stock Exsar stiff shaft, then opted to try the Fuji Fit-On stiff, just to try it in case.

Now today I wasn't swinging my best, the Exsar had a fade happening, the Fuji, wow...dead straight! I went back and forth, and it was no contest...the Fuji won.

I am now a FIRM believer in all the shaft tech in today's game. Who would have thought two shift shafts would have given such drastic differences.

Is the Fuji a big $ upgrade? I got it for $10 more and still got a better deal than any of the chain golf stores sell it with the Exsar. Brand new in wrapper until I swatted it.

I hit a Mizuno MP 600 with a Fuji Fit On E360. The shaft is good for my game. It is a low spin/low launch shaft that made my slice a nice playable fade. I moved the weights all the way to the heel. Pretty cool.

I have a Fuji Tour Platform 27.3 that is night and day different from that E360. I want to purchase that shaft and put in my HiBore XL, only the E360 doesn't come in a .350 dia. So I'm looking for an alternative that is in the same price range $75-$100. I don't want to spend the $300 on an Ozik.

Any tips for a low spin/low launch shaft.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
